Reference : Desire of Ages 187-189 [Chapter 19- At Jacob’s Well (part 2) – (John 4:1-42)]

Jesus told the Samaritan woman that those who drink from the well will eventually thirst again but those who drink of the water He will give will never thirst again. He was trying to show her and us that the world is not able to quench our longing thirst and what it offers will only last but a while. He directs us to Him as the giver of that living water that is able to refresh and invigorate our soul. Anyone who tastes the water from Jesus will desire more and more and His supply will never run out. The desire for the things of the world will go. “He in whom Christ dwells has within himself the fountain of blessing,- “a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” From this source he may draw strength and grace sufficient for all his needs.” [DA 187.3] Jesus caught the woman’s attention and she desired to obtain that water so she would taste no more. However, before Jesus can supply the living water, He seeks to point out our sins and show us the need for a saviour. He went on to point out that the things of this earth are not able to grant anyone access into the kingdom of heaven just He explained to Nicodemus.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23,24 (KJV)

“In order to serve Him aright, we must be born of the divine Spirit. This will purify the heart and renew the mind, giving us a new capacity for knowing and loving God. It will give us a willing obedience to all His requirements. This is true worship. It is the fruit of the working of the Holy Spirit.” [DA 189.3]

Shades of blue and red,
Light slowly fades; not gone yet,
As the sun will set.

There’s nothing like seeing lovely fresh flowers in the morning. It’s a great way to start one’s day.

All of these beautiful things are God’s handiwork and what a magnificent job He did. 🙂
