Yesterday I left home to go do a photoshoot with a friend but the rain came down. I didn’t let that stop me and I still went on my way and ended up at a beach. Much to my amazement, I saw hundreds of baby turtles hatching and making their way to the sea.

This shot here I thought was too sweet. I could only imagine the one turtle telling the next that he’s right behind him and not to worry.

It often seems that when we are challenged with something, we get a message that speaks directly with our needs.

That was the case for me yesterday.

I trust God. However, I find myself holding back. Everyday, I pray the Lord guides my thoughts, words and actions.

I ask God to take my life and to make it one pleasing to Him. Because He has given us the freedom to choose for ourselves, I too have to do what I need to do. That being, giving it all up to God. After all, God helps those who help themselves.

I find myself sometimes forgetting to put Him first. Like when I’m going about to eat a meal, or drive on the road, I forget to thank the Lord and ask for His blessings. It’s only after I’ve started tht it occurs to me and I stop to pray. That should not be the case. I’m trying hard to put God first. They say “old habits die hard”. Well the good thing about it, they do die.

God is the reason why I’m alive today. He is the reason I have all that I have. I pray that I will remember this daily and that I put Him first without thinking.

Last night at church, the message was about letting go of the petty things in our lives and ask the Lord to send the Holy Ghost to fill us.

If you do think about it, how can we expect the Lord to fill a cup which is already full? We need to empty ourselves and let go of the jealousy, hate, anger, envy and so on and give it ALL up to God. Only then can we be filled and live a life pleasing to God.

With God in our lives anything is possible.

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (Mark 10:27 KJV)

Today was good. Actually, it was great because I’m alive, I have a job, I have a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, clothes to wear, family that loves me and cares and friends that do the same.

God truly is good. That’s why we should thank Him daily for what He has provided and done for us in our lives.

My friend and fellow blogger started a post yesterday saying what she is thankful for and today I started one as well. My hope is that someone out there will read one of my posts and be changed or moved to change.

My new blog series is called “Today, I Say Thanks For…” and here’s the first one: Today, I Say Thanks For… #1

Back to today. This morning I was face with temptation and the first thing I did was to run to my bible because I can find all the answers in there and I found a scripture. And it did help.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (James 1:2-18 KJV)

After it all, I prayed and I went about my way. God is such a great and wonderful God. I keep saying it, but that’s only because it’s true.
