It’s the day before the big day and I’m super excited. Tomorrow is my baptism.

At bible study last night I was told about baptism and the importance of such an event in one’s life as one seeks to have a relationship with God. The baptism symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and it wipes away our sins and we are born again in Christ.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

(2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

That’s going to be me.

Tonight I was listening to the sermon, from the very same crusade I went to and made my decision, and the evangelist was preaching about ‘the unforgivable sin’; the presumptuous sin. That is, willfully sinning after knowing the truth; choosing not to obey.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

(Hebrews 10:26, 27 KJV)

He went on to say that the ‘unforgivable sin’ is not one of magnitude, but one of attitude. The Holy Ghost continuously tries to bring us closer to Jesus and when we refuse to hear and put up a fight we are sinning against the Holy Ghost and that is not forgivable. Nothing can then be a sacrifice for that sin. If deny the Holy Ghost, Jesus too will deny us his blood to wash away that sin.

I’m going to find out the truth by studying my bible and once I know the truth, that’s what I’m going to live by.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

  1. Really happy for you, I’ll be there in spirit

  2. btw have you read Rom 6?
